This client wanted a formal living room but with a flair, This is the first room in the front of her home so she
wanted something with a statement, She wanted something elegant with enough seating to entertain a few guests. She also loves yellow and gold tones.
We had the Idea of creating a “Conversation Room” which is what we like to call the modern-day approach
to a Formal Living Room. We found these gorgeous rich yellow chenille armchairs with classic wood
detailing and a leopard damask print. We positioned the chairs at each corner of the room creating a middle
central point anchored by a leather coffee table. An antique mirror was in-between the two windows to give
the room a larger feel. At the windows, we kept with elegant feel so we used a silk textured pattern fabric for
the sleek window treatments hung on a chic gunmetal rod. The ceiling has a beautiful coffered ceiling but
the white on white detailing did not show the ceiling in its best light so we added a metallic textured
wallpaper that complements the architectural ceiling. We enhanced the lighting by adding a gold leaf
hanging chandelier. The client was overjoyed by seeing the design plan come to life, which lead to the
continuation of the rest of her home.
