Navy Pop Too Family Room

DESIGN CHALLENGES ADDRESSED

This client needed direction in how to complete this room this is her “show” family room since she uses her keeping room as their main lounging space. She wanted to include navy blue in the space and she still wanted the room to be livable. She was seeking an updated fan, accessories, window treatments, and a way to make her bookshelves pop.

DESIGN SOLUTIONS PROVIDED

For this client, we added navy blue accents in her coffered ceilings to bring the experience of the room upward. We got her a very updated fan which is now a conversation piece in the space. For the window treatments, we went with stationary panels in a blue and white abstracted contemporary stripe pattern fabric hung on medallions. The panels were placed where each window ended and begun, by covering that transition it creates an illusion of one big window instead of four separate windows. In the bookshelves, we used a cork wallpaper which has metallic accented to add depth and an unexpected material choice. We finished off the room with art and accessories for a family room that is great for show or living.
