Sharon was born on the beautiful island of Trinidad and grew up in Toronto, Canada. Growing up surrounded by a creative family (an Artist, Fashion Designer, a Hair Stylist, and many professional singers) gave Sharon a very creative eye when it comes to design. Being born and raised amongst the arts allowed her to have access to a wide range of high end textiles, fabrication and construction this undoubtedly influenced her decision to become an Interior Designer. What she loves most about being an interior designer is her ability to get to work with so many different people to help each one achieve their own personal style that reflects their likes, values, and culture.

In 1992, Sharon migrated to Lithonia Georgia. With her high knowledge in textiles and fabrication she started working for a local interior designer fabricating window treatment. Sharon later started a window treatment fabrication workroom then added design consulting to her resume in 1996. Always seeking knowledge to better serve my clients, she attended The Custom Home Furnishing School in Swannanoa, NC. After many years in business, she still felt that she needed more knowledge to better serve her clients. She decided to go back to school where she graduated at the top of her class earning a degree in Interior Design. It was during a presentation to her class in her last semester of school that she was introduced to an interior design franchise. Once graduation was over, she worked for that franchise, which exposed her to new techniques that would help to reinforce what she learned in school and reignite her love and natural skill for design. After nine months, she decided to run her own franchise. After running a franchise for several years Sharon and her daughter Sherica took a leap of faith and opened their very own independent interior design firm, Interior Design by S&S!

Sharons tenacity to excel and reach for the stars has led her business to reach to high heights from magazine features and award winning designs there’s no where that she cannot reach. Sharon has worked in the interior design industry in some capacity for over twenty years and says that her favorite part of the process is seeing each client’s reaction to the “Big Reveal” after she has just installed the room of their dreams. Her dedication to each project is the same no matter how small or large. Her design philosophy is that your home is a personal reflection of YOU, not her, which is why she spends so much time getting to know her clients and addressing their needs for their home.

Sherica was born in Toronto, Canada, and grew up in Lithonia, Georgia. While growing up, architecture and design had always been a big influence in her life. Throughout school, the arts and mathematics were always her high point. Her focus and determination allowed her to graduate with honors at the top of her class.

At the age of 16, Sherica spent summers in New York City expanding her modeling career. At the age of 18 she moved to New York to pursue her modeling career full time. Fashion shows and photoshoots has taken Sherica around the world to places like Milan, Poland, Cape Town and all over the Caribbean islands. Her international modeling career eventually landed her placements in Marie Claire, Essence, Cosmopolitan and a winning season on Project Runway. At a very young age Sherica was exposed to high fashion and a secret society of couture art and culture. This unique design exposure gave her an unparalleled advantage within the luxury interior design community. Sherica prides herself on serving as a tastemaker and carries with her a secret source of vendor contacts, inspiration and perspective to every design job.   Sherica is truly an interior mixologist when it comes to design

While in New York she got accepted to Parsons The New School of Design where she earned her BFA in Architectural Design Having grown up in a household where you had to make something out of nothing, this simple skill has seeped into my design philosophy and has taught me to see things in a way that others may not have thought of. Multipurpose and innovation are two things that hold high prominence in her design process. After ten years of being in New York she decided to move back to Atlanta where she joined her mother as an Interior Designer.

What Sherica love most about Interior Design is her ability to change someone’s life. Yes believes interior design can change someones life through what she call “Residential Therapy”, it is creating a place of peace & comfort, a place where you can call home! It’s where you escape after a long day, it’s where you create memories with your family, it is an abode that tells a story about who you are, where you been and what you love. Whatever the space may be residential or commercial, Sherica loves transforming spaces to feel peaceful, comfortable, and inviting.. with a touch of edge of course! When she creates a space for her clients, she doesn’t only expose them to different and unique products to make their special space stand out from others but she also strive to give her clients a space that fulfills their personal needs through functionality.
